I Have Learned

I have learned that...

Life is a mysterious intricately woven fabric of the known, the unknown and the unknowable. If we live a thousand lifetimes we will never unravel it

I have learned that...
Desire is bondage and desirelessness is freedom.
Even the desire to be desireless can enslave you.

I have learned that...
All living creatures are instinctively and by nature selfish.
The innate unrelenting desire to survive predominates all else.

I have learned that...
The unknowable unseen force that animates all existence, as intangible as it appears is more potent than the entire collection of tangible things.

I have learned that...
I am but a mere whisper of a ripple, in the vast infinite ocean of existence.

I have learned that...
Birth, life and death will forever be intertwined in a never ending dance through the yawning annals of time.

I have learned that...
Sex is like every other basic natural thing that we do. Eating, walking, talking, sleeping...

I have learned that...
Name and form is in the mind only. Beyond the mind there is no name or form everything simply is as it is.

I have learned that...
Race, class, inferiority and superiority disappear instantly among men whenever our physical existence is threatened. The threat of death it seems, can bring a sense of equality. And death itself is the ultimate equalizer.

I have learned that...
To look with the mind is not true seeing. Because the mind is prone to judgment, misunderstanding and misinterpretations.

I have learned that...
There is a place within us where pure silence eternally abides. When we come to that place we are one with everything.

I have learned that...
"War is young men dying and old men talking"

I have learned that...
All mental constructs are illusion. Reality is beyond the mind's ken.The creative force never discriminates.
Its intent is always tending towards balance among all things.
