The Invisible Ties That Bind

We meet, we speak, we laugh, we dance
We touch, we cry, we love, we make love
Memories abound, they grow, they bind us
Some remain, some seem faded while others fade

We drift, grow apart, "brake-up", move away or die
...
Sighhhhhhhh

We weep, we hurt, we yearn, we mourn, we wonder
Sometimes we ponder! Was it real!
Was it an illusion! A dream perhaps.

We see endings, but was there ever a beginning
Our minds search! Is that it?
What about forever and ever afters ...
hmmmm

Have we ever wondered!
Could the invisible ties that bind, ever really be broken?
Mother to child, husband to wife, brother to sister,
Kin to kin, lover to lover, friend to endearing friend
Even enemies seem bound, by their hatred for each other

We feel the invisible link, always and forever
Though tested by time and circumstances
We cling, but deep within we know
It is like catching the wind
Trying to hold on to shifting sand

Stop for a moment! In total stillness! Can you feel it?
The ties that bind us all as "one"
Maybe we are forever locked together
In an eternal dance of
"oneness"
The whole then is in the part, and the part in the whole.
